Ganwyd David Kempster yng ngogledd Cymru ac astudio yng Ngholeg Cerdd Brenhinol y Gogledd.  Dechreuodd ar ei yrfa fel prif unawdydd gyda’r English National Opera, ac wedi hynny ymddangosodd mewn llu o dai opera enwocaf Ewrop a’r Unol Daleithiau.

Ymhlith uchafbwyntiau ei yrfa y mae perfformio rhannau fel Jago, Sharpless, Amonasro, Germont, Rigoletto, Scarpia, Lescaut, Nabucco, Guillaume Tell, Don Giovanni, Michele, Balstrode, Renato, Tonio/Alfio a Jack Rance gyda chwmnïau megis Dallas Opera; English National Opera; Royal Opera House; Royal Danish Opera; Florida Grand Opera; Gothenburg Opera; Opera Cenedlaethol Cymru; Glyndebourne; Scottish Opera; Opera North; Danish National Opera; a Gŵyl Savonlinna.

O ran canu mewn cyngherddau y mae wedi perfformio gyda Cherddorfa Ffilharmonig  Copenhagen; yr Hallé; Trondheim Symfoniorkester; Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra; Cerddorfa Genedlaethol Gymreig  y BBC; Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra; the Ulster Orchestra; Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment; Opera Rara; ac yng nghyngherddau Proms y BBC Proms a’r  Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele.

David Kempster was born in North Wales and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music. He began his career as a company principal with English National Opera, and has subsequently appeared with many leading houses throughout Europe and the USA.

His career highlights have seen him perform roles such as Jago, Sharpless, Amonasro, Germont, Rigoletto, Scarpia, Lescaut, Nabucco, Guillaume Tell, Don Giovanni, Michele, Balstrode, Renato, Tonio/Alfio and Jack Rance at companies including Dallas Opera; English National Opera; Royal Opera House; Royal Danish Opera; Florida Grand Opera; Gothenburg Opera; Welsh National Opera;Glyndebourne; Scottish Opera; Opera North; Danish National Opera; and the Savonlinna Festival.

On the concert platform he has performed with Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra; The Hallé; Trondheim Symfoniorkester; Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra; BBC National Orchestra of Wales; Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra; the Ulster Orchestra; Royal Philharmonic Orchestra; Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment; Opera Rara; and at the BBC Proms and the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele.
